How does a native of Louisiana become a rock-climbing guide? A high-school rock wall, 12 years in the Marine Corps, 4 years in Arizona, 6 moves from Florida to Washington State to North Carolina, and Virginia, a realization that the world of corporate financial management isn’t all that exciting, and a very patient wife. I started climbing in high school and was hooked. After a multi-year hiatus due to the Marine Corps, I started climbing again when April and I relocated back to Virginia. I love everything about mid-Atlantic climbing and enjoy spending time on the rocks in Fredericksburg, at Mather’s Gorge, Seneca Rocks, and the New River Gorge. I received my instructor certification through the Professional Climbing Guides Institute (PCGI) and enjoy working with people in the vertical environment.

I just enjoyed an excellent rock climbing 101 class with Keith. An excellent adventure with an awesome instructor.
This past Saturday my husband and I went rock climbing with our fantastic instructor Keith. This was out first-time rock climbing and let me just say it has made a lasting impact on our lives. It was fun, we felt safe and comfortable, encouraged and very supported. Keith is a wonderful teacher we can not stop raving to our friends and family about our wonderful experience. We can not wait to continue the adventure in rock climbing.
