Starting in May of 2016, I will be managing River Rock Outfitter’s boat rentals at Hope Springs Marina in Stafford, VA.  I grew up working at an outdoor center shuttling canoes and kayaks and getting people out on the water and I am excited to spend the summer outside doing what I love to do best!  I’ll also get to put all of my instructor certifications to good use.

This will definitely be a change of scenery for me. I am used to working on narrow, faster flowing rivers such as the upper section of the Rappahannock River.  At the marina, I will be on a section of Aquia Creek that is relatively flat, and a mile or so wide.  I am excited about learning more about Aquia Creek and the Potomac River, and introducing more and more people to the world of paddle sports.

I will have the River Rock Outfitter rental fleet out Friday through Monday and will conduct classes on stand up paddle boards and kayaks all weekend.  I want hope springs to become a place where families can come for a fun Saturday with their kids, as well as a hub for more advanced sea kayakers and stand up paddle boarders to visit and enjoy often.

Get out to Hope Springs Marina this summer and stop by to meet me.   We are going to have a great summer!
