Kayaking: River Tripping

Are you new to kayaking on a river or want to refresh some of your skills? If so, this is the class for you.
This course includes all the gear you need to get out on the water!
You will learn:
This river kayaking class will start on land with a discussion on the different types of kayaks, necessary gear, fitting a PFD and tips on getting into and out of a kayak safely. We will discuss things to consider when planning a river trip and necessary logistics. From there we will get on the water and paddle down river (approximately 3 miles). Along the way we will discuss basic strokes, best paddling posture, basic maneuvers, and important tips when paddling local bodies of water.
What should I wear?
Even if the air is warm the water can still be chilly. Plan accordingly, especially in late fall and early spring.
What should I bring?
When out on the water staying hydrated and protected from the sun is a MUST!
• Water bottle
• Sunglasses with a retention strap
• Dry bag for phone/wallet/keys
• Required medications
• River shoes (shoes that can get wet, smelly, and will stay on)
Refund Policy Note: We are excited to get you outside and enjoying our courses and events. Each activity is tailored made for your specific needs and goals for the sport. Since we offer private/small group instruction and special events, our guides’ schedules are busy. Please be considerate of their schedule and make sure you arrive for your activity on time and prepared. Payments are non-refundable. If the activity is cancelled due to weather, then we will do all we can to schedule a rain date. Your guide will work with you to reschedule your activity or, if available, provide a reasonable alternative. If you must cancel for any reason, then notify your guide immediately. We will work with you to reschedule if a cancellation is made at least 48 hours in advance of your scheduled activity.
