A.T. Planning Workshop (March 9)
March 9, 2019 @ 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
$60
Cost: $60.00 which includes a planning handout from Meegana and a 2019 AT Guide, A Handbook for Hiking the Appalachian Trail, by “Awol” Miller.
As an A.T. thru-hiker (c.2014), Meegana often gets asked questions about the trail. It’s exciting and daunting to think about a 5-6 month long adventure. An adventure where you are totally reliant on your own skills and preparation. Removed enough from the thru-hike to have perspective on her experiences,we are ready to offer a workshop to help others plan for their A.T. dreams.
Come gather round the campfire (table) and get expert advice on planning your A.T. hike. Whether its for a weekend, week, or you are thru-hiking the full A.T., we can help get you prepared and confident for the trail!
In this workshop you will learn:
• Overview of the A.T. and what you can expect on trail
• How to plan your mileage each day
• Food prep and setting up drops
• Hygiene, sanitation, and leave no trace while on trail
• Gear for a variety of weather conditions
• How to plan for various expenses back at home and while on trail
• And SO much more!
We have fun stories from the trail and personal experiences that will help you avoid pit-falls. We have some simple techniques and planning tools to help you start planning for your dream of getting on the A.T.
We will be providing the best on trail snack- GORP and beverages.
There are limited spots. Make sure you sign up early.
